Man denied flat over ‘late payment’, builder penalized

A builder has been ordered to pay Rs 2.25 lakh as compensation to a Kandivli man for terminating a sale agreement for a flat on the grounds of alleged late payment. The Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, which passed the order on Wednesday, observed that the act of termination was a perfect example of “law-breakers being smarter than law-makers”. RNA Builders (NG) was directed to hand over the flat within a fortnight after the man pays the full amount.

City improvement committee unhappy

The members of the city improvement committee of PimpriChinchwad municipal corporation expressed displeasure about being sidelined by the town planning department. Shubhagi Borhade, chairperson presided over the meeting. Shiv Sena corporator Seema Savale raised the subject of tabling a proposal about the development plan of newly merged village of Tathawade, directly before the civic general body (GB) for approval around a week back instead of tabling it before the committee for initial approval.

No deadline for e-way takeover

No time frame has been announced yet by the Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC), for taking over the Gurgaon-Delhi expressway. The present concessionaire, Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd (DGSCL), said it would continue to manage the toll plazas until any decision was taken in the matter. Earlier this month, TOI had reported that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) board on January 30 had approved the takeover of 74% stake in the project by IDFC, reducing the share of DGSCL to less than 26%.

ICRA expects the total residential households in Bangalore to continue to grow at the rate of 4%- 6% per cent per annum until FY2015 led by demand from new migrants as well as investors and continued growth plans of many large IT/ITES, engineering and manufacturing companies based in Bangalore. However, post FY2015, the demand may get impacted in case the global economic slowdown continues thus lowering IT/ITES related employment opportunities. There has been a significant increase in the residential projects under development over the last two years, which would result in increased supply in the market.

Besides, four developers, including L&T Chennai Projects and Welspun Anjar, have approached the commerce ministry to surrender their IT and textile zones respectively.
